Sunday School in Action

Yay! Sunday School is in full swing for our youth. Each week, children from preschool through 6th grade hear about God's love through song, prayer, crafts and stories. We pray that God continues to work in the hearts of these children and their teachers.

Schedule for Sunday Morning

8:15 - Adult Bible class
8:30 - Sunday School and confirmation class for youth
9:30 - Sunday Worship in the sanctuary

There will be coffee in the Family Life Center from 8:00 until after the church service. Please stop by the FLC before or after church for coffee and fellowship.

Walt's Wednesday Bible Study on Martin Luther’s 95 Theses is in session.

Pastor Stolle’s Bible Class ~

The Friday Bible Study with Pastor Stolle is in session. This study is on Max Lucado’s book: What Happens Next: A Traveler’s Guide Through the End of This Age. Cost of the book is $17 please pay Pastor Stolle cash when the class starts. See Becky for a book.

Adopt-a-Street Pickup

It's time to do our last pickup of 2025. We will have an Adopt-a-Street pickup on Saturday, November 15th. We will meet at Ascension at 8:45am to get vests and bags. Our “adopted street” is Blue Ridge Boulevard from 51st Street to I-70. Come and join us as we serve our neighbors and community by helping to keep Blue Ridge Boulevard looking good. Are You Ready for Chiefs Football?

The Ministry of Outreach is hosting a Chiefs watch party for regular season Sunday games. Come join us in the Game Room downstairs for some fellowship and team spirit.

Dorcas Circle's Mitten Tree Is Now Up.

The circle is collecting hats and gloves for children and adults, adult socks, coats and other winter necessities to be given to the four food pantries that LUMA supports. Items may be placed on the tree or in the winter necessities box. Items will be delivered at the LUMA-Auxiliary meeting on November 19.

Lutheran High School Play

Come see Allison Eckhoff in Lutheran High School’s production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” on Friday, Nov. 21 or Saturday, Nov. 22. The show starts at 7 pm and there is a spaghetti dinner served before Friday’s show. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased from either Allison or Sarah Eckhoff.

Hanging the Greens

Help decorate the Church on Sunday, November 23rd right after Service with Hanging of the Greens. Shouldn’t take long if we have lots of help. Then stay and join the Chiefs watch party. Bring a favorite snack or dessert if you want. Any questions contact Bev Mettlen.

Our Redeemer Servant Event

Ascension will be sponsoring the Community Meal at Our Redeemer on Sunday, November 23. We will be serving a Thanksgiving meal and are asking for dessert donations and volunteers to help with serving and clean up. There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex.

Walker Program

Ascension’s Walker Program is live! The Family Life Center is open for walking from 7 am to 10 am weekdays. Walking is a great way to start your day and can improve both your physical and mental health! Please join us.

Our Walker Program provides our members and our community with a forum for physical exercise through walking and fellowship. Ascension members serve as hosts for the program; which is open weekdays from 7 am to 10 am (not including holidays or when there is inclement weather). If you are interested in serving as a host, a host substitute, and/or would like more information please feel free to reach out to Charles Green or Pam Rinas.

Fellowship in the Family Life Center

A reminder that there is coffee available in the Family Life Center after Church. Grab a cup and visit with friends.

Heit’s Point Lutheran Ministries GOAL – Strengthen and Encourage the faith lives of the LCMS families in Missouri and Kansas!

The Lutheran Urban Mission Agency Auxiliary will meet on Wednesday, November 19, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5901 East 135th Street, Grandview, MO. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with the opening service at 9:30 a.m. The speaker will be Amy Cox from Flourish Furniture. The Mission of the Month collection is NEW winter necessities for the food pantries: socks, gloves, hats, scarves, coats, long underwear, blankets/quilts (full or queen size). Lunch will be served. All ladies of the congregation are invited to attend and all donations for the Mission of the Month collection are appreciated. Thank you!

Messiah Food Pantry - THANK YOU to all those who helped out at the Messiah Food Pantry in September and October. They are expecting a larger amount of traffic than normal on Saturday, November 22 and are in urgent need of additional volunteers. Setup begins at 9 am and the drive through pantry is open from 10 to noon. There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex. Please consider spending just a few hours of your day to help.
