Walker Program

Ascension provides our members and our community with a place for physical exercise through walking in our FLC gym weekday mornings from 7 to 10 a.m. This program also provides a forum for getting to know one another and many connections and friendships have been formed over the years. Ascension members serve as hosts for the program, and we are looking for additional volunteers to serve either on a scheduled or substitute basis. Contact Pam Rinas (pamrinas@icloud.com or 816.679.7996) or any of our Walker Hosts (Johna Brill, Darlene Crain, Darrel and Brenda Frolin, Phyllis Kohl, Candy King, Joyce Pinkepank, Doug Rinas, Theresa Trautman) if you are interested or have further questions. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this opportunity to serve and support this wonderful program.

Planning Now to Deck the Halls

Please note the following key dates:

  • the First Sunday in Advent is November 29.

  • Hanging the Greens is on Saturday, November 28.

We would like to be a bit more intentional in our approach this year because our Christmas decorations need a little sprucing up over the summer. Join us for a coordination meeting after worship on June 14. We are looking for individuals to take charge of specific zones throughout the church building. Responsibilities would include selecting the designated decorations and inspecting them for repairs, cleaning, or updating. Look for the sign-up sheet in the Narthex, or contact Bev Mettlen or Eileen Green.
