Sunday School in Action

Yay! Sunday School is in full swing for our youth. Each week, children from preschool through 6th grade hear about God's love through song, prayer, crafts and stories. We pray that God continues to work in the hearts of these children and their teachers.

Schedule for Sunday Morning

8:15 - Adult Bible class
8:30 - Sunday School and confirmation class for youth
9:30 - Sunday Worship in the sanctuary

There will be coffee in the Family Life Center from 8:00 until after the church service. Please stop by the FLC before or after church for coffee and fellowship.

Bible Studies at Church

The Lutheran Hour Ministries sponsored "Gifted for More" Workshop start has been moved to April 21 during the Sunday Adult Bible class hour. It will be a multi-media presentation similar to the previous class making use of LHM materials and videos (on the large format TV) as well as Gifted for More workbooks for participants as we explore the gifts that God has given us (some obvious, some hidden) and how to put them to work for the betterment of ourselves, our congregation and our community in the service of God."

Vicar Walt Little's Bible Study ~ Wednesdays @ 10:00

Pastor Stolle’s Bible Class ~ Fridays @ 10:00 discussing Max Lucado’s book Help Is Here Finding Fresh Strength and Purpose in the Power of the Holy Spirit. The book is $20.

Walker Program

Ascension’s Walker Program is live! The Family Life Center is open for walking from 7 am to 10 am weekdays. Walking is a great way to start your day and can improve both your physical and mental health! Please join us.

Our Walker Program provides our members and our community with a forum for physical exercise through walking and fellowship. Ascension members serve as hosts for the program; which is open weekdays from 7 am to 10 am (not including holidays or when there is inclement weather). If you are interested in serving as a host, a host substitute, and/or would like more information please feel free to reach out to Charles Green or Pam Rinas.

Fellowship in the Family Life Center

A reminder that there is coffee available in the Family Life Center after Church. Grab a cup and visit with friends.

LWML MO District KC South Zone 2024 Spring Rally

Saturday, April 20th . Please join us for a Prayer Service “Grace, Mercy, Peace”. Rally will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5901 E. 135th St, Grandview, MO. Gifts from the Heart: Mites for missions (checks payable to LWML MO District KC South Zone). Registration begins at 9am; opening devotion at 9:30am. Cost is $5 (includes lunch). Kansas City Gospel Big Band Concert

Join us April 14th, 7pm at Ascension Lutheran Church. Enjoy sacred songs in a time of worship!


Ascension will have an Adopt a Highway pickup on Saturday April 20th. Come and help us spruce up Ascension’s stretch of I-70. Feel free to bring someone along with you. We’ll meet at the usual place behind the Cracker Barrel (I-70 and Lee’s Summit Road) at 8:45am. We’ll pick up for about an hour or so. Come earlier if you want to join us for breakfast.

Keeping Our History Alive

Do you have old or new or anything in between of photos from our church history, functions, programs, fellowships, decorating, etc.? I can scan old photos or download anything digital from a CD/DVD or a flash drive. All photos will be returned to you. The photos will be in a large collage and displayed at our 60th anniversary celebration in November of this year. Please, make sure to put your name on your photos, so I may return them to you.
